In 2003 Grassroots was instrumental in establishing the Melton Mowbray Traditional Native Breeds National Show and Sale as a co-operative venture on behalf of the participating breed societies. It was a great success and became the premier traditional and native breeds sale in the UK, including some 50 different breeds of sheep, cattle, pigs and goats as well as a large sale of rare breed poultry and waterfowl.  In 2021 Grassroots stood back from running the event, but provided each Grassroots breed with the tools to create their own catalogue pages, and are delighted that the event is going from strength to strength..
